Join us for an in-depth introduction to beekeeping! No prior knowledge or experience required. We cover honeybee biology, equipment, diseases, seasonal management, and offer a field session covering how to install your new bees and do a hive inspection.

About the event
Perfect for newcomers, this class covers everything you need to confidently start and care for your own hive. Over the course of 5 three-hour sessions, you’ll learn vital beekeeping skills:
January 19th: Honeybee Biology
January 26th: Beekeeping Equipment
February 9th: Honeybee Diseases
February 16th: Seasonal Management
April TBD: Field session including nucleus colony installation and hive inspection
Students who choose the $125 ticket will receive a beginner hive and get guided instruction on assembling and using it during the course. Students who buy the $60 ticket can still observe the hive-building course, but won't receive hive equipment.
Included with the $125 ticket:
- 1 deep hive body
- 1 bottom board
- 1 telescoping inner cover
- 1 telescoping outer cover
- 2 deep frames with foundation
